| Site surroundings: Suita is located 20 km north-north-west of Osaka. Within a 5 km radius of the station, 70% of the land is suburban housing with road and garden, 30% is parkland including hills with miscellaneous trees. The Meishin motorway is 2 km south-east and the Chugoku motorway is 1.5 km south from the measurement site. | Climate characteristics: Climate is temperate monsoon with dry and mild winter and wet and hot summers. Average temperature is 5.5 °C in January, 27.0 °C in July, and 16.3 °C in the year. The annual sunshine duration is 1944 hours. The dominant sky in summer is partly cloudy and in winter is clear. The closest weather station is Osaka meteorological observatory, 20 km south of Suita. | |

| Comments All the illuminance photocells and the irradiance sensors were calibrated by the manufacturers. The angle of sun tracker is adjusted almost every morning by students belonging to our laboratory. |
