Site surroundings:

The station is located in the Seoul National University (San 56-1 Shillim-Dong, Kwangak-Gu, Seoul, Korea), 12.5 km south of the city hall of Seoul. Within a 5 km radius of the station, more than 90% is full of hills. But most parts of hills are lower than the station. Subway line 2 is 2.5 km north of the station, Mt. Kwanak is 1 km south of the station.

Climate characteristics:

Climate is monsoon with 12.1°C average annual temperature,. Average temperature in January is -2.1°C and in August 26.4°C. Average annual sunshine duration is 2374 hours. About 47% of a year is cloudy. Typhoons often hit in August and september. The closest weather station is located at Mt. Kwanak, 1.5 km southeast of the Seoul National University.
